Question by Ed K: where can I get engine parts for a 1972 international heavy truck. I am doing a ring and valve job?
I don't know the engine size but I do have the casting number. I went to international part store, they told me it was to old and didn't make those parts any more. I need gaskets and rings.

Best answer:

Answer by pedal2themetal45
HI
Take your casting number to the dealer and see if they can tell ya the motor size. Once you have that go to a regular parts store and you should be able to order parts. If the dealer can't tell ya the motor size the ask at the parts store what were the motors available for that year truck and I'm sure you could be close.. OH you could measure the pistons or the bore size and get the motor size from that.
good luck

Samantha McCartney asked:

Our vehicles hold much wear and tear, especially certain areas of our vehicle. Areas like the ceiling of the chapel, the side mirrors, windscreen and our side of the wheel. Our borders are far from the wheel every day and sometimes get scratched or scrapings. It is important to keep our vehicles for the view that good and the means they have to sometimes get in the car body repairs. An auto body repair that you may need is to repair the edge of the wheel, and he is also surprised that a repair can be made. Many times our borders wheel vehicles get damaged in the parking curbstones leading curbstones in sharp corners, accidents and so on. Most people do not realize that the edges of the wheel can be repaired if they need to straighten or scratch or scrape. It's really a fairly simple process. These are the steps you take to get the edges of the wheel replaced. First you need to find a qualified auto body shop to do the job for you. You'll want to choose a store that has a good reputation and give you a fair price. You requested an estimate, most of the time to give you an estimate for free. You may want to ask to see the kind of work they produce to see the quality that matches with what you are expecting. You must look at several shops before you decide what is best for you and your vehicle. He then scheduled a time to come inside. Should tell you how long it will take to repair your vehicle ahead of time so you can prepare and take action if needed. Most of the repair of the rim of the wheel of the seasons can be finished quickly so you can not necessarily need a rental. Then begin work on the edges of the wheel of vehicles. First begin by examining the edges of the wheel looking for any bends or cracks. Any curves or straight ***** before they get any work done outside it. You will want to ensure that completion of the repairs without the use of the heat since it can compromise the genius or the edge of the composition of the alloy wheel. If the edges of the wheel are scratching or abrasions cleaned and then sandblasted polish the edges of the wheel. Once this is complete autogenous welding on any piece is missing. So a top quality primer is applied to the edges of the wheel. After the match the colored wheel along with technology to ensure the color matches the other side of the wheel, with two layers of clear over the paint. Finally cooked under the light of short wave to harden and protect against future damage. Comes out looking great! Most stores will give you a guarantee on their work if there are any problems. If you damage the edges of the wheel you should definitely get the repair to the edges of the wheel. The repair of the rim of the wheel is much cheaper than buying new edges and can be completed in a fraction of the time too!

autorims4less.com
